ISpA Committees

The scope of work for ISpA includes all activities covering the full spectrum of Space Domain. To zero in on all verticals related to space, ISpA has created the below-mentioned committees. The aim of the committees is to bring together members with uniform expertise and interests and to guarantee the holistic development of the space sector.

The Committees work on various dimensions such as Policy, Resources, Technology, R&D, Design, Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, Infrastructure, Business, Applications, Operations, Management, Services, Institutions, multi-disciplinary as well as inter-domain integration aspects where applicable, Market Trends and Human Resources (which would include skilling for various sectors of Space Domain).

Satellites: Platform, Equipment, Infrastructure, Applications, Services & Human Resources.

The various aspects looked at under this committee includes,

  1. All types of Satellite platforms (including Small, Micro, Nano and Pico satellites) and linked equipment
  2. R&D, design and development
  3. Operations and management
  4. Slots
  5. Emerging technologies
  6. Standards, trials, testing, calibration and certifications
  7. Transportation of sensitive and fragile equipment
  8. Insurance and liabilities
  9. Raw materials including rare earth/strategic materials where applicable
  10. Service markets as applicable (could include sectors like food, water & energy; fisheries; mining; transportation; BFSI; Logistics; healthcare; sustainable development requirements; natural & man-made resource management, homeland security etc.,)
  11. Monitoring of trends which need attention
  12. Human Resources: adequacies, gaps, requirements and future focus with regards to awareness, education, skilling, requirements, capacity building, institutions, infrastructure and advanced research

  9. Raw materials including rare earth/strategic materials where applicable
  10. Services relating to both upstream and downstream markets as applicable

  2. All types of Geospatial Data linked aspects that would include, equipment, systems, date creation, processing, quality, accuracy/precision, management, safe storage, security and privacy (where applicable)
  3. Issues related to ease of accessibility, availability & affordability of data
  4. R&D, design, development and manufacturing of payloads, equipment, applications and linked systems
  5. Operations and management
  6. Emerging technologies
  7. Standards, trials, testing, calibration and certifications
  8. Transportation

  5. Institutional arrangements for mentoring and support; ease of engagement for government projects
  6. Mentoring and guidance on legal, financial, administrative and technical aspects
  7. Creation of Investment Eco-system for Space Startups
  8. Strategic Technologies for possible focus by startups.
